Who I am

Alkis Nerakis

Welcome, my name is Nerakis Alkis I., and I am a physiotherapist with a BSc from Manchester Metropolitan University, where I graduated with first-class honours. I also hold an MSc in Neurological Paediatric Rehabilitation from Oxford Brookes University, completed with distinction. I am well-versed in the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF) framework endorsed by the World Health Organization, and I am trained in tele-rehabilitation—providing video consultations for individuals who face challenges attending in-person sessions due to mobility, distance, or other constraints. Alongside my clinical work, I volunteer with the Σύλλογος Σκελετικής Υγείας «Πεταλούδα», a non-profit organization based in Greece, officially recognized by the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF). Through this initiative, I offer bone density screenings in remote communities using a portable DXA device, promoting early detection and prevention of osteoporosis for individuals with limited access to healthcare.
